PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A wild chase in southeast Portland came to an end when the driver slammed his car into the front yard of a home.

Emergency dispatchers said officers spotted a black Cadillac driving in the area of Southeast 115th Avenue and Bush Street around 1:30 a.m.

Those officers began to follow the car, and became involved in a chase. They laid down spike stripes just east of Southeast 82nd Avenue and Holgate Boulevard, but the driver eventually crashed into a yard about six blocks away at 76th Avenue and Holgate.

"I was inside my kitchen at the time and I saw the guy come by my kitchen window," said witness Harold Tracy. "And I could see the sparks his rims were throwing up and he was still just barreling down the streets, must have been doing at least 50 miles per hour."

Portland police haven't confirmed any information about what happened.

One person was loaded into an ambulance after the wreck. That person's identity hasn't been released.
