Driver survives car plunging down embankment

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A driver ended up in the hospital after plunging over an embankment in Southwest Portland on Monday.

The car landed on its top after veering off the road on SW 18th Place, according to Portland firefighters.

Firefighters used a rope system to bring the driver up the hill. She was later taken to OHSU.

They had to call in tow trucks to remove the car.
