Beaverton man sentenced for animal neglect

BEAVERTON, OR (KPTV) -

His dogs were seized in August, and now a Beaverton man is going to have to pay up for animal neglect.

A judge sentenced Stan Evans to three years of probation today. He's also not allowed to have any animals for five years and has to pay $200 in fines.

Authorities took several dogs from Evans after neighbors reported that one of the owners beat the dogs with a hammer and a shovel.

Two other owners, Steven Young and Darlene Exendine, pleaded guilty to several charges connected to the case in September. Another suspect, Carl Crosswhite Jr., is set to face trial later this month.
