'Stab Your Friend Night' to be held at fencing center

Posted: Updated:

If you ever wanted to stab your friend but, you know, not actually hurt them, here's your chance.

The Northwest Fencing Center in Beaverton is hosting Stab Your Friend Night on Friday from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Instructor Vince Camillo will give the basics on the sport of fencing in the 90-minute session.

All stabbing equipment will be provided, but attendees are asked to bring a bottle of water and a towel and wear indoor tennis shoes and sweatpants.

The Northwest Fencing Center is located at 4950 SW Western Ave. You can RSVP to the event at the Facebook event page.

Oregon, unbeknownst to many, is somewhat of a hotbed for fencing. Mariel Zagunis, from Beaverton, has won two Olympic gold medals in the sport. She carried the U.S. flag in the opening ceremonies of the 2012 Summer Olympics. Zagunis is not associated with the event.
