Shots fired at school turns out to be Civil War reenactment

BEAVERTON, OR (KPTV) -

Beaverton police rushed to Valley Catholic School on Thursday morning after getting a report of shots fired.

It turned out there was no gunfire at all, at least not any real gunshots.

The school was performing a military reenactment as part of a class lesson about the Civil War.

Police quickly cleared the scene after being told it was a demonstration involving muskets.

Valley Catholic, which has students in kindergarten through 12th grade, is located at 4275 Southwest 148th Ave.
