PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
Police reopened Stark Street Monday morning after figuring out that a suspicious device was just a hoax.
Officers say they found the device taped to the flag pole at Washington High School just after 4:30 a.m. and then closed down Stark between 12th and 14th.
After a quick examination, Police called in the bomb disposal unit.
Bomb technicians removed the device around 6:50 Monday morning and police reopened Stark Street.
No evacuations are necessary and Washington High School, which closed in 1981, was not affected.
