WASHINGTON COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

Investigators are searching for a robbery suspect after he allegedly tied up a hotel clerk and took off with some cash. The suspect was armed with a gun, investigators said.

It happened just after 4 a.m. Monday at the Shilo Inn off Canyon Road near Beaverton.

A man dressed in a black ski mask, gloves and a gray hooded sweatshirt walked into the hotel's lobby and pointed a semi-automatic handgun at the clerk, investigators said.

The robber approached the clerk from behind, tied him up and took off with some cash, investigators said.

It took the clerk several minutes to call 911, investigators said. He was not hurt.

Deputies set up a perimeter around the hotel to search for the robber. A canine patrol was brought in to help with the search.

The suspect is described as being average height with a slender build.

If you have any information, call the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
