ASTORIA, OR (KPTV) -

Oregon State Police are continuing their investigation into Sunday morning's minor injury crash involving a loaded log truck and a passenger vehicle on Highway 105 south of Astoria near Wireless Road.

According to Trooper Jessica Spurlock, the loaded log truck driven by 57-year-old William Fletcher from Astoria, was northbound on Highway 105 near milepost 6 when the log load shifted.

Fletcher lost control and the truck and trailer overturned onto their sides and the load of logs spilled onto the highway. One of the logs crashed into the left side of a southbound car driven by 52-year-old Kristina Hess from Astoria.

Fletcher was transported by ambulance to Columbia Memorial Hospital with a possible minor injury.

Hess was not injured.

The logs and overturned vehicles came to rest blocking the highway, which was closed for about three hours until the scene was cleared.

Speed and wet roads are believed to be contributing factors to the crash. Highway 105 is an alternate to Highway 101 in the area where crash occurred.

Oregon State Police were assisted at the scene by the Clatsop County Sheriff's Office, the Astoria Police Department, the Lewis & Clark Fire Department and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
