Alpharetta police confirmed that a veteran police officer is no longer employed by the department after charges that he repeatedly had sex on the job.
Lt. Dan Dreslinski was with the department's K-9 unit. Police will not say whether he was fired or resigned but did confirm on Monday that he is off the streets and no longer a city employee.
Amy Bramuchi filed a complaint with the police internal affairs unit. She told CBS Atlanta News that Dreslinski had sex with her at her home and in his patrol car numerous times.
Bramuchi said she met Dreslinski after approaching him outside a B.P. station and asked to pet his dog.
"It sort of began with sexting, I think that's what they call it," said Bramuchi, who lives in Alpharetta. "It's like a flirtation over text messages. It progressed into photographs that we exchanged with each other."
An email obtained by CBS Atlanta News from the Office of Professional Standards said the department was seizing Dreslinski's work and personal cell phone records.
"He would not tell anyone that he was over here," Bramuchi said. "The excuse that he gave to me when I asked him ‘what if you get a call?' He told me he would say he was just investigating a complaint."
The Alpharetta Police Department's website listed Dreslinski as the contact person for the K-9 unit. The unit makes presentations to community residents, business groups and students.
Bramuchi said she spoke out only after learning that Dreslinski is married, but said she does not have a vendetta against the veteran officer.
"I'm worried that there are other women out there," she said. "This is on taxpayers' dime. He is a lieutenant which makes him a supervisor of other police officers. He should be setting a much better example."
