PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

DUII charges are pending against a woman who suffered serious injuries in a crash early Friday morning.

Police said Gillian Stanley, 34, of Milwaukie, crashed into the overpass abutment at Northeast 33rd and Columbia at 12:33 a.m.

She was thrown from the car and trapped underneath it. Rescue crews took her to the hospital with injuries that were considered life-threatening at the time.

Investigators said Stanley remained in the hospital Tuesday recovering from serious injuries.

Witnesses said the car was heading east on Columbia Boulevard without headlights on in the center turn lane before crashing and spinning off into a fence.

Witnesses helped pull Stanley from under her car before police arrived at the scene.

Portland police said DUII charges against Stanley are pending in this case.

Columbia Boulevard was closed for a few hours after the crash.
