PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
The Oregon Zoo welcomed a new giraffe to its Africa Savanna habitat last month.
The 2-year-old giraffe, named Desi, came from the St. Louis Zoo.
Desi stands 10', which is still 7' shorter than the other giraffes.
He made the move to Portland in an extra-tall trailer equipped with a video camera so keepers could make sure he was safe inside.
Desi was slowly introduced to the other giraffes and animals in the Africa Savanna habitat.
A zoo curator said Desi was getting along great with the other two giraffes "and seems like he's fitting in really well."
The public can now see Desi and the other giraffes, Barkari and Riley.
