WOODBURN, OR (KPTV) -

A man accused of gunning down a 19-year-old in front of a Woodburn home in 2011 has changed his plea to no contest on the charge of murder.

Erasmo Lopez Jr. also pleaded no contest to the charge of attempted murder in court Wednesday. He will be sentenced on Feb. 15.

He is accused of shooting and killing Tomas Montes-Sanchez in front of the victim's home in May 2011. Javier Sanchez-Perez is also charged in the case and is set to face trial Jan. 17.

Police said the shooting death stemmed from a group of people trying to fight Montes-Sanchez and his brothers, who all refused to fight.

Officers said Montes-Sanchez wasn't a gang member, but his murder was considered gang-related.
