Police arrest burglary suspect, connect him to two other crimes

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Police arrested a burglary suspect early Wednesday morning and then connected him with two other similar crimes.

Officers responded to a Sonitrol burglary alarm at Art4m at 237 NE Broadway at 3:40 a.m.

An officer spotted the suspect leaving through a smashed out front window carrying a computer. The officer ordered the man to surrender and Jeffrey Hersel was taken into custody.

Detectives said they were able to connect Hersel, 44, with two additional commercial burglaries in Portland.

He was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on three counts of second-degree burglary.
