A man who pleaded guilty to shooting his mother in the stomach was sentenced to 30 days behind bars.

Terry shot his mother, Dana Terry, and then barricaded himself inside their home on Railroad Avenue. He was eventually caught in the fields surrounding his home.

Dana Terry was taken to the hospital with critical injuries, but her condition improved.

Robert Terry was given credit for time already served in jail and was also sentenced to five years probation. He must also submit to any recommended substance abuse counseling or treatment.
