PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
A Portland Police Sert team forced people from their homes and used tear gas to force a wanted man out of an empty garage.
A Portland police officer approached Jermaine O'Neal Frieson Thursday afternoon on Southeast 162nd Avenue.
As the officer checked to see if there were any warrants out for his arrest, Frieson took off.
Neighbors say he ran into an empty home about a block away.
Police worried he was hiding in the attic, so they evacuated people and used tear gas.
When they searched the home, police did not find Frieson.
Frieson is wanted on domestic violence and weapon charges.
Crimestoppers is offering a $1,000 reward in the case.
