KELSO, WA (KPTV) -
A fire just before Christmas destroyed dozens of gifts, but thanks to the generosity of others, dozens of men, women and children in Kelso had a great holiday.
A fire ripped through Mountain Ministry, a religious-based treatment center, along Rose Valley Road on Sunday Night.
Part of the home and hundreds of presents inside were damaged or destroyed, including quilts made by a church group.
Within a 24-hour period the community donated more gifts than the center had before.
Two firefighters were taken to a hospital for minor injuries while fighting the fire.
Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire.
