GOVERNMENT CAMP, OR (KPTV) -
After receiving 87 inches of snow in a 10-day span, Mount Hood Meadows just keeps getting more and more snow.
The 17 inches of snow on Christmas Day, plus a few more inches on Wednesday, brings the ski resort to a 107-inch base.
The recent early-season snowstorms have allowed the mountain to open all of its terrain, including Heather Canyon, which opened Saturday.
Ski resort staff said there's an abundance of powder, but skiers and snowboarders should be aware of deep snow safety hazards. They advise avoiding tree wells and riding with a friend, while always keeping that person in sight.
Meadows is open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. You can check the latest snow totals at skihood.com.
