TIGARD, OR (KPTV) -
With no words and no explanation, a Tigard man who recently suffered a stroke traveled 15 miles home Wednesday afternoon after vanishing on the way to the emergency room Christmas evening.
John Knorr became separated from his mother, Bridget Biren, after she parked in the St. Vincent Hospital lot as the two were walking into the ER after Knorr lost his ability to speak Tuesday.
Washington County deputies and hospital staff searched for Knorr in the area, but weren't able to find him.
Biren began speaking to various media outlets Wednesday as the search continued for her son. During her interview with FOX 12, Knorr arrived home with an old neighbor.
Somehow Knorr traveled more than four miles to his former neighborhood, according to former neighbor Jesse Manning. Without the ability to explain what happened, Manning drove Knorr the rest of the 10 miles home using hand signals.
Knorr has been recovering from a stroke he had three weeks ago. Biren believes he may have suffered a "mini stroke" Tuesday.
