PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
More than three dozen people were arrested on DUII charges by Oregon State Police troopers on the New Year's holiday.
Troopers said they arrested 39 people on DUII charges around the state between Dec. 31 and 6 a.m. Jan. 1.
Since an increased enforcement effort started at 6 p.m. Dec. 28, OSP troopers have reported 73 DUII arrests. That's up from 53 during the same period last year.
The Portland area command office made 10 DUII arrests between New Year's Eve and New Year's morning. Eight of those were after midnight.
Offices in Springfield and Albany each reported four DUII arrests.
