Temperatures dropped and winds picked up Tuesday night as a High Wind Warning went into effect in the Columbia River Gorge.
In Troutdale, the temperature reached 38 degrees, but 40 mph wind gusts made it feel more like 20 degrees.
In The Gorge, the wind gusts reached 70 mph.
"You can feel it," said truck driver Marvin Griffin. "It pushes you around on the road."
Residents on the east end of the Portland Metro Area are encouraged to secure belongings, including cleaning up any leftover Christmas decorations that could blow away.
The high wind warning goes through Wednesday.
