A Forest Grove man suffered multiple knife wounds to his hands and face during a fight at an apartment in Gaston on New Year's Day.

Washington County deputies are now searching for 38-year-old Delaney VanLoo in connection with the brawl.

VanLoo and 36-year-old Brian O'Neel became involved in a fight near 222 Front St. around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. When deputies responded, they found O'Neel injured, but no sign of VanLoo.

Authorities said they found VanLoo's 10-year-old son and his estranged wife unharmed in the apartment where the stabbing happened.

Detectives from the Washington County Sheriff's Office Violent Crimes Unit have now taken over the investigation.

VanLoo is described as heavyset, 5'10" tall and 220 pounds. He left the crime scene in a greenish-blue 1994 Chevy pickup truck with an Oregon license plate of UWF649.
