CHILOQUIN, OR (KTPV) -
A pilot and his passenger walked away from a dangerous landing into 18 inches of snow in southern Oregon.
The Cessna 182 pilot attempted a touch-and-go landing at Chiloquin Airport at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday. The runway was closed due to the piled up snow, according to Oregon State Police.
As the airplane's wheels touched ground, they dug into the snow. Brett Hopper, 31, couldn't pull the plane back up and lost control.
The wings and the nose hit the ground, damaging the prop and wings.
The pilot was not hurt and neither was his 34-year-old passenger.
