BATTLE GROUND, WA (KPTV) -
Clark County Fire & Rescue blamed a New Year's Day house fire that spread to other homes on fireworks.
Investigators said the fire, which started early Tuesday morning in Battle Ground, was sparked by fireworks that were not properly disposed of.
The blaze destroyed one home, causing damage estimated at $265,000. The fire also melted the siding on two nearby homes, which will cost about $20,000 to fix.
No one was hurt.
Fire fighters say used fireworks should be disposed of in metal containers and kept away from buildings.
