Police: California fugitive arrested in Portland

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A man wanted for murder out of California was arrested in Portland Saturday evening.

Police said that Casey Michael Tschida, 32, of Lemon Grove, CA, was arrested on a fugitive warrant at the Portland VA Medical Center by Portland police.

Officials said Tschida was wanted by the San Diego County Sheriff's Office for allegedly shooting and killing Jennifer Krainak early Thursday morning outside her apartment complex in Lemon Grove, CA.

Investigators said Tschida and Krainak were acquaintances and were at a bar in the San Diego area before the murder occurred.

Detectives from California are headed to Oregon to continue the investigation.

Currently, officials said there is no clear motive for the murder.
