Woodburn police investigate car explosion as arson

WOODBURN, OR (KPTV) -

The Woodburn Police Department is investigating a car fire from Saturday night.

Police said officers responded to the 600 block of East Clackamas Circle after a car was found burning just after 7 p.m.

People in the area reported that the car exploded, then burst into flames.

Residents told police they saw three men running through the backyard and a golf course in the area right after the fire started.

Police report that two homes in the area had recently been vandalized with graffiti, but police don't know if the two incidents are connected.

Oregon State Police is assisting with the case because of the explosion and fire.
