CROOK COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

A woman was ticketed after Oregon State Police say she crashed her car into the side of a slow-moving train in Crook County.

At about noon Monday, OSP says Norma Sharp of Prineville was driving south on Northwest Lone Pine Road. She approached a railroad track crossing as a City of Prineville Railway train was moving west on the track at about 10 mph.

Investigators say the train's operator sounded a horn, but Sharp didn't see the train until it was almost too late.

When Sharp hit the brakes, OSP says her car slid on the icy roadway and crashed into the right side of the train's lead engine car.

Sharp was taken to a hospital in Redmond with minor injuries. She was cited by OSP for failure to stop for a railroad signal.

Her passenger, Peter Sharp, was not injured.
