CAVE JUNCTION, OR (KPTV) -
A woman was killed after a head-on crash near Cave Junction Monday night.
It happened on Highway 199 at 6 p.m. Police said a Subaru Legacy heading south crossed the center line and slammed into a 1984 Dodge pickup.
A fire started in the truck and was put out by people who stopped at the scene to help.
The driver of the Subaru, Ruark Miller, 24, of Cave Junction was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to troopers.
The driver of the truck, David Wonderling, 48, of Selma and his 12-year-old daughter were treated and released at the hospital.
Another passenger in the truck, Joyce Willson, 68, of Selma, was flown to a Springfield hospital, but she died from her injuries.
The use of seat belts by the three people in the truck has not yet been confirmed. The cause of the crash also remains under investigation.
