Kate Cagle - KPTV - FOX 12

Kate Cagle

Posted: Updated:

Kate came to KPTV Fox 12 from Southern California, where she worked in broadcast news in Los Angeles and Palms Springs.

She is the only reporter and multimedia journalist in Portland who shoots, writes and edits most of her own work. Before coming to Portland, Kate was an anchor and reporter at KESQ and KPSP in Palm Springs. That is where she led her station's coverage of the largest gang crackdown in Riverside County history, technological changes at the Marine Corps base in Twentynine Palms, and visits by Condoleezza Rice and Laura Bush.

Kate studied journalism at the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern California. She got her first taste of breaking news covering wildfires and a city budget deficit that threatened to shut down basic services for many Angelinos.

Kate grew up just north of the Mexican border in McAllen, Texas. In her spare time, she loves to cheer on her Trojans and hike the miles of forest trails just blocks away from her home.
