Man arrested after Happy Valley police chase

CLACKAMAS COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

A Vancouver man is arrested after police say he drove recklessly and fled from authorities.

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office says several people called 911 reporting a reckless driver around 1 p.m. near Southeast Sunnyside Road and 122nd Avenue. Within minutes, Happy Valley police located the driver in a black Chevy Tahoe.

The driver, James Givart, did not pull over and led officers on a car chase. Deputies then used spike strips to stop Givart and arrested him without incident. No one was injured in this incident.

Givert was taken to a hospital for a physical and mental health evaluation.
