A man broke into a Clackamas County home and attacked a woman in the middle of the afternoon.

Clackamas County deputies consider the crime an attempted rape. It happened at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday near the Beavercreek Post Office.

The victim called 911 to report someone broke in and hit her on the head. She was treated at the scene and then transported to a local hospital.

Later in the evening, the victim worked with detectives and a forensic sketch artist to provide a suspect description.

The attacker is described as a white man, 40 to 50 years old, 6' tall and 160 to 185 pounds. He had light brown and gray hair, along with a mustache and beard.

The victim said the attack happened for no apparent reason. She said after being hit on the head, she was able to fight the man off after a struggle.

She said the suspect ran away out her front door. Nothing was stolen.
