Vancouver youth group volunteer facing child porn charges

VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

A Vancouver man who was active in a local church youth group is facing federal child pornography charges.

A criminal complaint alleges Bradley Gilliam, 24, shared illicit images of children, including toddlers, on a peer-to-peer network under the username "Bllover69."

Gilliam was arrested Tuesday and made his first court appearance Wednesday.

Investigators said they traced the Internet protocol addressed to Gilliam's home last summer. His laptop and digital storage devices were seized as evidence.

Investigators said they found a library of thousands of images and video files of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

At the time of the search, investigators said Gilliam was enrolled in courses to become a child sex abuse counselor and was also a volunteer with the Camas Grace Church youth group.

After being notified of the investigation, Gilliam was immediately suspended by the church from participating in youth activities.

Gilliam is due back in a Tacoma courtroom Monday.
