Two killed, four hurt in Southern Oregon crash

MEDFORD, OR (KPTV) -

A crash east of Medford killed two people and hurt four more Friday evening on Highway 140W.

It happened around 6 p.m. about 18 miles east of Highway 62.

Oregon State Police said a pickup truck crossed into the oncoming lane and hit a SUV on an icy patch of road.

The both the woman driver, 34, and passenger, 25,  in the SUV died after the crash.

Crews said they weren't wearing seatbelts.

Emergency crews took four people in the pickup truck to area hospitals.

Two men, ages 23 and 39, suffered serious injuries.

The truck's driver, 37 and his son, 8, went to a hospital but are expected to be OK.

Crews closed down the highway for over five hours while they investigated the crash.
