HUBBARD, OR (KPTV) -

Deputies in Clackamas County say they were forced to shoot a man after a multi-hour standoff near Hubbard.

They were originally called to a residence near Meridian Road and Whiskey Hill Road at around 9:13 p.m. Sunday after receiving a call regarding a man making suicidal threats with a gun.

The Sheriff's Office originally responded with a patrol deputies and a K9 unit, but called in SWAT and Hostage Negotiators as the situation escalated. Both teams responded to the location to contain and attempt to resolve the situation in a safe manner, deputies said.

Just before 2 a.m., the man was shot by a member of the SWAT team. He was then arrested and taken to an area hospital to be treated for a non-life-threatening injury.

All residents at the location were evacuated and no bystanders or deputies were injured. The incident is being investigated by detectives from the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office and other local agencies.

Investigators haven't released any additional information about what led up to the shooting, only saying that the man was shot "due to his actions."
