Parts of metro area get dusting of snow

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

What's up with the white stuff? A dusting of snow in the Portland metro area took many by surprise Monday.

People everywhere from Happy Valley to Aloha and Vancouver to Tigard reported light flurries and a dusting of snow on the ground.

The light snow had little to no effect on the morning commute.

Temperatures won't get much higher than freezing Monday. FOX 12 meteorologists are forecasting a high of 35 degrees.

High temperatures should go back into the 40s later in the week.
