LONGVIEW, WA (KPTV) -
An 87-year-old woman was pronounced dead after a crash in Longview Saturday afternoon.
It happened at 2:45 p.m. at the intersection of Commerce Avenue and Florida Street.
Witnesses said Eva Bruner appeared to be slumped over the steering wheel as her car accelerated through the intersection against a red light.
Her 1998 Honda Accord hit the front of a 2004 Ford F-150 truck that was stopped for the red light. After hitting the truck, Bruner's car jumped the curb and hit a Chevy truck parked at the Bud Clary Chevrolet dealership.
Her car finally came to a stop against a light pole.
Bruner was taken to the hospital where she was declared dead.
The driver of the first truck that was hit, Desiree Martin-Balch, 25, and her passenger, Barbara Tindall, 21, were treated at the hospital for minor injuries. A 2-year-old child in a child seat in the back of the truck was not hurt.
