EAGLE POINT, OR (KPTV) -

A month-long investigation into illegal deer hunting led troopers to an Eagle Point home where they said they also found two pounds of marijuana.

Robert Martin, 35, is accused of taking three buck deer after the season ended in December. Oregon State Police received a tip about the suspect and served a search warrant at the home he shares with his wife Jessica Martin, 24, on Sunday.

Troopers recovered three buck deer heads, several weapons and more than two pounds of marijuana.

Robert Martin is charged with taking deer during the closed season, unlawful possession of a game mammal, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

He was booked into the Jackson County Jail.

Jessica Martin was issued citations on charges of taking a deer during the closed season, waste of wildlife and hunting with a prohibited method (artificial light).

OSP Fish & Wildlife Division encourages anyone with information on deer poaching or other wildlife-related crimes to call the turn-in-poachers tip line at 1-800-452-7888.
