Officer arrests robbery suspect

SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

A California man has been arrested, accused of robbing a Salem Subway restaurant.

James Palen was placed in the Marion County Jail on eight charges including robbery and felon with a weapon.

Palen was arrested Monday after a Salem officer recognized him from surveillance pictures of the robbery.

Officers say Palen robbed a Subway on state street Jan. 11 and threatened the clerk with a gun.

Officers say Palen had a loaded handgun on him when he was taken into custody.
