Is Portland's new mayor willing to play a role on the beloved TV show Portlandia?
Mayor Charlie Hales says he's up for it, but not in the same role played by former Mayor Sam Adams, who was an assistant to the (fake) mayor in the IFC show.
"I'm looking for something a little edgier because maybe I'm this buttoned-down guy who ought to have that alter ego, right?" Hales said. "So maybe a guy that drives a beer truck or maybe even a beer delivery bicycle who's got some strange tattoos on his neck. I mean, makeup artists can do all kinds of things."
He said he wants to negotiate for a role different from who he is, "just for fun."
Hales, who lives in Eastmoreland, sat down for a lengthy interview with FOX 12's Shauna Parsons last week, and touched on everything from schools to sales taxes to his cat Bogart.
