PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
A Portland youth football league coach accused of sexually abusing girls was sentenced to nearly 19 years in prison.
Otha Banks Jr. pleaded no contest last November to two counts of sex abuse charges in one case and guilty to rape in another.
He was arrested in March 2011. Court documents said he abused three girls under the age of 14 from 2005 to 2010.
He also has an extensive criminal history, including assault and drug and firearm possession.
Back in March, Pop Warner Executive Director Jon Butler told Fox 12 he believes it could've been "inefficient record keeping" that allowed Banks to slip past the criminal background check.
