Tualatin Police are asking for the public's help in finding a burglary and assault suspect.

On the morning of Jan. 5, investigators believe Kristopher Basta, 38, unlawfully entered an apartment in the 7800 block of SW Sagert St., police said.

Once inside, the suspect attacked a man sleeping in the apartment, officers told FOX 12.

According to police, this was not a stranger-on-stranger crime. The victim recognized the suspect.

The suspect has told officers he would turn himself in, but has not followed through, investigators said.

Basta has been indicted on charges of first-degree burglary and fourth-degree assault.

There is an active warrant out for his arrest.

Basta is described as a white man, 5'10" tall and approximately 210 pounds.

He is known to frequent the Tualatin and Lake Oswego areas, police said.

The public is asked not to approach the suspect, instead call police.

Tualatin Police ask anyone who knows where Basta is to call non-emergency dispatch at 503-629-0111.

Anonymous tips can be left on the Tualatin Police Tip Line, 503-691-0285.
