MCMINNVILLE, OR (KPTV) -

A McMinnville teen is accused of pulling a knife on another boy and stealing his cell phone.

A 13-year-old boy and his mother went to the McMinnville police station Friday to report the boy had been threatened and robbed at Discovery Meadows Park that afternoon.

The 17-year-old suspect was identified and contacted at his home.

Police said the two boys were acquaintances. When they saw each other at the park, investigators said the 17-year-old displayed a knife and asked the victim what he had on him.

Police said the 17-year-old then took off with the 13-year-old's phone.

Officers said they found the phone and the knife at the 17-year-old's home.

The suspect was lodged at the Yamhill County Juvenile Detention Center on charges of attempted robbery, theft and unlawful use of a weapon.

If you know anything about this case, you're asked to call detectives at 503-434-2340.
