PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Police have identified the man killed in an early morning crash in southeast Portland.

Investigators said Lion Langan, 37, was a passenger in the car driven by John Martin, 49. Langan was killed in the crash.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at Southeast 42nd and Division at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Martin was taken to the hospital and arrested after being treated and released.

Investigators said the car was headed eastbound on Division when it slammed into a telephone pole at 42nd Avenue.

Police said alcohol was a factor in the crash, but weather did not play a role.

Martin now faces charges of second-degree manslaughter, reckless driving and driving under the influence.
