TIGARD, OR (KPTV) -

A group of teens are charged with breaking into at least seven cars in Tigard.

Tigard police said the crimes happened in neighborhoods along Pacific Highway near Canterbury Lane and Gaade Street overnight Friday and into Saturday.

In most cases, the victims reported property missing from their vehicles.

By late Saturday morning as victims began to discover their vehicles damaged or property missing, police were closing in on the arrests of two 16-year-olds and a 17-year-old allegedly responsible for the crime spree.

The trio was arrested and taken to the Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention Center in Portland on charges including theft and criminal mischief. Two of the boys were also charged with burglary which was indirectly connected to the vehicle crimes, according to police.

Tigard police were also able to recover most of the missing property, including a gun and ammunition taken from one car.

Officers returned most of the items to the rightful owners throughout the weekend.
