PORT ORFORD, OR (KPTV) -

Two men accused of attacking a man with a baseball bat in Port Orford are now charged with attempted murder.

Police had been looking for Allen Vonnevin, 33, and Glenn Burkhow Jr., 32, since Jan. 11. Investigators said a 49-year-old man was found badly beaten early that morning.

Police said the victim knew his attackers. The victim continues to receive treatment at the hospital for serious injuries.

On Jan. 17, an Oregon State Police detective spotted Vonnevin in the passenger seat of a vehicle driving in the Bandon area. With the assistance of Bandon police, the car was stopped and Vonnevin was taken into custody.

Following the arrest, police contacted Burkhow over the phone and arranged to have him turn himself in.

They are both now in custody on charges of attempted murder, assault and robbery.
