7-Eleven robber at large in Vancouver area

VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

Clark County Sheriff's deputies are trying to determine whether a robbery at 7-Eleven is linked to a home invasion and shooting.

The robbery happened around 5:30 a.m. Friday at the convenience store in the 4500 block of St. Johns Boulevard.

The initial description of the suspect roughly matches the description of the suspect in a Hazel Dell home invasion, and Sgt. Fred Neiman said it's "certainly something that detectives are looking at."

But Neiman said it's too early to tell if the same person is behind both crimes.

The 7-Eleven robber entered the store, approached the clerk and displayed a handgun as he robbed the store of cash and various items.

He is described as white or Hispanic and 5'9" with a thin build. He wore a black leather coat with a hood pulled over his head.
