Two teenagers have been arrested after a stabbing in southwest Portland late Thursday night.

Officers said three teens pulled up to the victim and his friend at the corner of Southwest 49th Avenue and Dickson Street and began a verbal confrontation.

Two of the suspects then got out of the blue minivan and physically assaulted the victim. One suspect used a knife to stab 18-year-old Juan Antonio Bermundez multiple times.

The suspects then fled the area, but investigators were able to locate the blue minivan nearby and arrest the two primary attackers.

Portland police said it appears the attack was gang-related.

A 14-year-old boy now faces attempted murder and first-degree assault charges, while a 15-year-old boy was charged with third-degree assault.

The two teens were booked into the Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention Home.

The third boy in the van was 13 years old. He was not charged and was released to his parents.
