'MythBusters' exhibit coming to OMSI

Posted: Updated:

MythBusters is coming to OMSI. The popular TV show on the Discovery Channel is the inspiration for a new exhibit at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry.

Starting Feb. 8, MythBusters: The Explosive Exhibition will feature hands-on, interactive experiences that highlight some of the most popular segments from the Emmy-nominated show.

Highlights include the blueprint room, which is a copy of the real-life operations room of MythBusters. It will be filled with gadgets, props, video and blueprints used by hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman.

Visitors will be able to test some of the most famous myths from the show, including whether an airplane can take off in one direction while it's on a conveyer belt moving the opposite direction at the same speed.

A video arcade-style experiment will also be setup to test a "blind driving" myth about whether visitors can partner up to blindly navigate a city.

And have you ever wanted to try yanking a tablecloth from a fully set table without disturbing any of the dishes? Visitors will get that chance in the exhibit.

MythBusters: The Explosive Exhibition will run from Feb. 8 through May 5. Tickets are on sale now at OMSI.edu.
