Investigators said a wanted felony suspect who was shot and killed by police in Vancouver was armed with a stolen gun.
Jesse France, 29, was shot and killed Jan. 18 at the Addison Apartments on East 18th Street. Investigators said members of the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force tried to contact him inside a car in the parking lot.
Police said France rammed his car into an undercover U.S. marshal's car that had officers inside. Those officers got out and approached the man's car with weapons drawn.
Police said France's actions escalated the situation and officers shot and killed him.
Clark County deputies put out an alert about France in December 2012. He was accused of slamming into a telephone pole near Walnut Grove Elementary School and running away from the scene.
Investigators said a witness tried to follow France, but he pulled a gun on the witness.
Vancouver police released additional information about the officer-involved shooting Tuesday. Investigators said France was in a stolen car and carrying a stolen gun when he was killed.
The Major Crimes Unit is continuing to investigate the case.
