PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A man accused of attacking a woman in Washington Park, while also charged in two other sex abuse cases, is going to prison.

Kenneth Couch changed his plea Wednesday to guilty on charges of rape, robbery and sex abuse.

He was arrested in July 2012 for attacking a woman along a popular trail near Hoyt Arboretum. Investigators said he grabbed the victim by the neck. She screamed and fought back, causing Couch to run away.

Police caught him the next day.

He was also charged with rape for a case in Gresham a month earlier, along with another attempted rape case in July.

He originally pleaded not guilty to all charges. He changed his plea after remaining charges of attempted rape and strangulation were dropped.

He was sentenced Wednesday to more than 12 years in prison and he must register as a sex offender.
