The Hillsboro police officer accused of shooting at police during a standoff at his Forest Grove home appeared in court for his arraignment and his lawyer entered a not guilty plea.
Court documents show Timothy Cannon faces 11 counts of attempted aggravated murder - one for each of the officers involved. Police said Cannon held his wife, Lisa, and daughter hostage inside their home earlier this month.
Cannon also faces animal abuse charges for killing a cat.
Meanwhile, a group of volunteers is trying to help the family recover.
"Lisa is the kindest, most wonderful, compassionate person I know," said Alana Ambrose, whose managing the volunteer effort. "For this to happen to her, well for it to happen to the family, is just mind-blowing."
Ambrose organized various teams of people - some are providing food the family, others are repairing damage to the home so they can move back in.
A fund has been set up at Bank of the West under the name Lisa Cannon Supporters.
